The Dream That Started It All

In 1979, I had a dream.

I don’t say that lightly. Most dreams fade by breakfast. This one didn’t. It stuck with me — the feeling of it, the sense that there was something bigger underneath the ordinary world, something hidden and waiting. I carried it with me for years.

I’m not a person who does things quickly. I spent 25+ years as a Casino Surveillance Technician — a job that teaches you to watch, to notice the small details everyone else misses, to understand that there’s always more going on beneath the surface than people realize. That way of seeing the world fed the dream. Every year, the universe behind it got a little bigger, a little more real.

I remember running for my life, through a forest, on a cold dark night. I was being chased and shot at. Then finding a cave, I entered and went deep inside. In a chamber, deep within the cave, I found a stone pedestal. When I placed my hand on the tablet, a large shimmering and glowing portal opened. I went through, then everything changed.

Decades of research and world-building followed. Parallel worlds. The rules that govern them. The people caught between them. I built it all piece by piece, the way you’d build anything meant to last.

Quantum Step Payton’s Awakening is the result — my debut novel, and Book One of the Quantum Step Adventure. Sixteen-year-old Payton’s nightmares lead him beneath his hometown, where a hidden legacy pulls him into a war across parallel worlds.

If you’ve ever carried an idea for years before doing something about it, this book is for you. And this blog — Quantum Chronicles — is where I’ll share what’s happening behind the scenes: the lore, the writing life, and where the story goes next.

Welcome aboard.
